Typical all-in totals for the repairs that come up most often out here — parts and labour together, from the low end of a straightforward job to the high end of an awkward one. Which end of a band a particular unit lands on is what the visit establishes.

That is the appliance alone. Set the repair band beside it before deciding — on a built-in, the cabinetry usually decides the argument rather than the compressor.
Where those replacement figures come from
A comparable built-in refrigerator, appliance only — before delivery, installation, custom panels or cabinetry work. Undercounter and wine units sit below this band; a column replacement is usually two purchases rather than one.
Four things decide where inside a band a job lands:
- Which part failed A door gasket, an evaporator fan and a sealed-system component are three different orders of job. Until the fault is found, any number would be a guess.
- Whether the part is still made Current models are straightforward. Older units sometimes need a superseded part sourced, and that changes both the price and the timeline.
- How the unit is installed A panelled column in a run of cabinetry takes longer to get at than a freestanding unit with clearance on both sides. Access is real labour.
- What else is close to failing If a second component is visibly on the way out, you hear about it while the unit is open rather than on a second call.
